AND 1st place goes to.........

Our two lil' actors... 

Lifeway Christian School in Centerton is the school that I teach 8th - 12th grade Art.  We are so extremely blessed to have all 3 boys attending school there.  This year Eston is in kindergarten, Dru is in 2nd grade, and Caden is in 4th.   Being a small Christian school there are so many wonderful opportunities that the kids are exposed to that they might not ordinarily be able to do at a public school, or even at a larger Christian one.  One of these opportunities is competitive Speech meets for 1st -8th grades.  This is the very first year that any of the Darby boys have decided to tryout for speech, and to our excitement.... BOTH boys placed 1st in our school meet for their grade division...   Our school competes with other Christian schools in the ACSI division.  The 1st and 2nd place winners from each division get the opportunity to compete at the State ACSI meet against other students in their grade level from other Christian schools in Arkansas.  This year our school is the host of this event!  Soooo on Feb 22nd, 2011 Caden, and Dru will get a chance to wow a second set of judges with their poetry readings.

Below are 2 short video clips that I taped of the boys at home the same day that they competed for our school speech meet.  At the time of filming, they did not yet know the results.  They both have assessed their video clips and have chosen things to improve on before the State competition.  Only time will tell on which changes and/or improvements are made.
